E Commerce Services for Magazines

Magazines are expanding their business models through e commerce services such as marketing and matchmaking. For example, New York Magazine is partnering with HowAboutWe.com, an online dating site, in a bid to keep audiences and advertisers engaged.
This means that consumers can expect more services to be offered by magazines outside of content as they try to strengthen their business models. Magazine publishers like Hearst are now turning to e commerce as a way to offer readers the ability to purchase products they see on the magazine websites and apps. This idea of commerce mixing with editorial content is moving offline into the world of print, as well. Periodicals such as Lucky Magazine are now offering "text to buy" promotions on select products. The link-up between New York Magazine and HowAboutWe will be interesting to watch as a test case for this innovative marketing approach.
